Advertising mast, Grabow

In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, the new Shell truck stop on the A14 motorway was opened in January 2021. For this purpose, FUCHS Europoles produced the highest advertising mast in Europe with a total height of 85 meters.

Hybrid design and dual functions

The first 63 meters of the advertising mast are made of five reinforced concrete parts. The tip consists of a steel round tube construction, on which a 25 square meter advertising system finds its place. On the one hand, the logo of the Shell petrol station can be found on this. On the other hand, the fast-food restaurant Burger King is advertised here – and for the first time with the new logo in Germany. The mast, whose billboard is illuminated with power LEDs, is not only used for remote advertising, but also has another important task. Among other things, the installed mobile radio antennas strengthen the network of 5G technology along the highway. In addition, this additional equipment brings microwave radio for message transmission for the truck stop.

The entire structure weighs an impressive 225 tonnes and is anchored on a 100 square metre heavy-duty foundation with 500 tonnes. A 450-tonne mobile crane with a boom height of 92 metres was used for assembly.
