Storey columns and architectural concrete columns

In addition to the classic storey supports for building construction, we supply unusual columns made of spun concrete for the implementation of the most demanding architectural designs. Due to the special production process, a wide range of design diversity in the highest exposed concrete quality is possible. This allows you to set architecturally unique accents and to use the advantages of precast elements in the construction process.

The special feature of spun concrete columns

The basis for this is our spun concrete process, which has been continuously developed and optimised since production began in the 1950s. As a technology leader, we are now in a position to offer the highest quality spun concrete columns in the world. For our columns, we use high-strength concretes with concrete grades up to C140 with a maximum reinforcement content of 16 percent. In combination with high-strength SAS 670 steels (Annahütte), the centrifugal process allows us to realise projectile columns that can carry the greatest loads despite their slender diameter. For architectural columns, we use our own tensioning process, which allows us to realise very slender geometries, especially for long columns, due to the pretensioning. Visually particularly high-quality: the non-porous surface in exposed concrete quality > SB4.
But the production technology offers even more advantages: The cavity created in the core of the column can be optimally used for the installation of supply and disposal lines (e.g. non-visible drainage). In addition, fastening options flush with the surface or recesses for functional installations can already be spun in during the spinning process.

Storey supports

Our storey supports bear high loads and were developed for fast construction in building construction. They are particularly advantageous for multi-storey structures such as high-rise buildings: Minimal length tolerances due to the use of milled steel plates at the column ends enable assembly without grouting. The just-in-time delivery to the construction site directly for the planned assembly of the columns allows an extremely fast construction progress. With limited space around the construction site, this also means that no additional storage areas are required. Short production times in combination with high capacities allow a short planning lead time and thus a high flexibility during the construction progress. In addition, the minimised column cross-sections increase the usable space. Space consumption is thus reduced by up to 40 per cent and ensures the largest possible lettable area.

Architectural columns

With our high-class columns for the architectural sector, you enjoy the greatest possible design freedom. Whether sharp-edged or four-sided formwork-smooth components, special surfaces (coloured or white concrete, bush-hammered, sandblasted, polished) and ornaments, we manufacture the supports according to your individual requirements. For special architectural claims such as inclined supports, support penetrations through building ceilings as well as exceptionally long and at the same time slender columns, we will be happy to advise you and look forward to realisation.
The spun concrete process allows for long and filigree columns up to a length of 36 metres. Use them to set visual accents in the implementation of free-floating architecture.
