Welcome to FUCHS Europoles GFK GmbH

Your specialist for masts made of glass-fibre reinforced plastic (GRP)

The GRP poles are particularly easy to handle and install.

Poles and barrier booms made of GRP score with further product advantages:
They break easily when this special property are of use (frangibility at the airport / for barriers). They defy road salt or salty air. And they are very easy to erect – i.e. with little manpower and muscle power.

Technology

Hard shell, soft core.

The manufacturing process of our GRP masts

Our glass fibre reinforced plastic masts are manufactured using a patented centrifugal process: Glass fibre mats are wound around a metal mandrel and placed in a chrome-plated steel mould. During the subsequent spinning process, the reinforcement and matrix material are compacted by strong centrifugal forces and the addition of resins.

Safe and resistant

The result is a product whose properties guarantee maximum passive safety in accordance with frangibility requirements. The material breaks in the event of an impact to ensure optimum protection of road users, for example. Flame-retardant, fully insulated and non-conductive, GRP poles meet high safety standards. Poles made of fibreglass-reinforced plastic are lightweight yet resistant: They are resistant to high wind loads, vandalism, weather and corrosion. This makes them maintenance-free and durable. Good vibration damping also ensures a long service life for attached lights and fittings.

Environmentally friendly materials

Our GRP masts are made from environmentally friendly, lightweight materials with little energy input. The low dead weight also reduces transport and assembly costs.

Design according to RAL colours

Already during the spinning process, the poles can be coloured in any RAL colour according to the customer's wishes. The colours are UV-resistant and the mast surface remains perfectly smooth, scratch-resistant, homogeneous and without seams. Mechanical damage to the mast surface can be easily repaired.

Special projects

What we are particularly proud of.

Very special projects made of glass-fibre reinforced plastic that speak for us

Bio Based Poles

Bio Based Poles

Instead of glass fibre, natural flax fibres are used to manufacture these environmentally friendly poles. At the same time, the poles remain extremely durable. In the Netherlands, we have already realised numerous projects with Circulus BV.

GRP radio mast

Freiburger Verkehrs AG expanded the city's suburban railway network. For this purpose, we supplied overhead line masts made of glass-fibre reinforced plastic (GRP) on which flight warning spheres are mounted. This makes the overhead line of the railway line in Breisgau visible from a great distance.

The KIWI Connection, known for creative outdoor sports activities, commissioned a mobile "climbing mast" from us. The result: a 4.5 metre high GRP mast with climbing steps and rubber protection on the ground. This means that nothing stands in the way of climbing exercises away from the mountains or climbing gyms.

Weather mast - tilted in the middle

For a French weather service, we developed a mast that can be tilted in the middle, which makes it possible to maintain the sensors. 22 of 50 masts have already been delivered - to France, Valais & French Polynesia. The first delivery took place in October 2022, the remaining masts are scheduled to be delivered by 2025.
